  1. In a large skillet, heat the oil over medium-high heat until it shimmers. Cook, tossing frequently, until the trimmed green beans are bright, glossy, and slightly brown.
  2. Season with salt, garlic, black pepper, and you may add the seasoning of your choice. Cook, stirring regularly, for about 30 seconds, or until the garlic is aromatic.
  3. Fill the pot halfway with water and cover with a lid. Cook for 1-2 minutes longer, or until the green beans are bright green and crisp-tender.
  4. Season with salt and pepper to taste, then top with dried cranberries, toasted nuts and lemon wedges.
